Song writers like Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Irvin Berlin, Rogers and Hammerstein, Rogers and Hart and Jerome Kern moved popular vocal music to new heights. The Swing Band kings such as Duke Ellington and Fats Waller drove big band music and jazz into the popular market too. The above list is nowhere close to being comprehensive there just is not room here for all of the great composers.  It\u2019s hard to choose one album with so many outstanding artists such as Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Peggy Lee many more. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/deborahgjeloshaj.co.uk\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/ella-fitzgerald-famous-history-new-york-161800.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2343\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I would share this decadent occasion with one of my favourite singers\u00a0<strong>Ella Fitzgerald <\/strong>and<strong> \u201cThe Great American Songbook\u201d.<\/strong>\u00a0The light and easy style of this music, her smooth and melting tone, great tunes and foot tapping rhythms will keep your taste buds on the go all the way to supper! This cd is filled with the best of the best. Bizet\u2019s seductive \u201cL\u2019amour est un oiseau rebelle\u201d from Carmen, \u201cDonizetti\u2019s relaxing \u201cUna furtiva lagrima\u201d from L\u2019elisir d\u2019amore, and the tantalising beauty of \u201cSilver moon in the deep dark sky\u201d from Dvor\u00e1k\u2019s Rusalka are to name just a few on this brilliant collection. It seems that the commission for this concerto would have been rather uninspiring for Mozart as he professed to like neither the harp or the flute!
